Design Director

Client confidential

Chicago, Illinois · Architecture · Director · Posted October 1, 2026

Chicago studio. The design director sets the standard of the work and still draws. The firm wants someone who can critique a pin-up and also win the trust of a client who has a budget.

Design leadership across a studio, not a single hero project.

What you would do

• Lead design on the studio's important pursuits.
• Sit with project managers so design and fee are the same conversation.

What you should already have

• A body of built work you can walk through.
• Chicago, or a reason to be there that is more than the posting.
